| Brian removed his hand, uncovering the tears that were running down his cheeks. His eyes did not only show sadness, but also fear. Did Mike just ask him to leave?
"Fine," he simply said, looking right into Mike's eyes. "I'm fuckin' leaving, Mike. Because you obviously can't handle facing things. You're throwing me out now because you don't wanna see me leave."
He picked up his bag, sobbing quietly. "If I didn't love you as much as I did, I wouldn't need to forget you."
He walked to the door and opened it. Before leaving, he turned around one last time. He forced a smile. "Your coffee is gonna get cold." He walked out and closed the door behind him.

| "Fuck!" Mike bursted out, more tears falling down. This wasn't happening. Not again. His movements dry and quick, he pulled his pants on and headed for the door, stumbling miserably on his feet. He clutched the handled, bursting the door open. He sniffed, and spotted Brian. He was now openly crying as he started a clumsy run after the smaller man. | |

| Brian had heard Mike's footsteps in the corridor, but he still stared mechanically ahead of him.
The doors of the elevator opened, and he stepped in.

| Mike felt a wave of panic wash over him when he saw the elevator was already there. A few more steps he quickly made, and then he jumped toward the now closing doors. He landed heavily on Brian, dragging him down in his fall, whispering to himself in pure fear "not again, not again." | |

| The doors closed. Brian cussed, lying on his side.
"If I have a broken rib, I'll fucking kill you with my bare hands, Mike Dirnt!" he yelled, his vision still blurry from the tears. He tried to push the man away, but he was too heavy. He gave up with a sigh, hitting his head on the floor. "Moron."

| Mike stayed there, a bit shocked himself he had tackled Brian in such a drastic way. But things were better now. Brian was there (under his approval or not) and he had some feeling of control.
He caught his breath and the absurdity of the situation hit him. One way or another, these metallic sliding doors would eventually open up, with or without their consent.
"We might have a problem now," Mike mumbled, still firmly attached to Brian.

| "We would have less of a problem if you'd fuckin' get off me," Brian replied bitterly.
He wasn't sure if he was angry at Mike anymore, but the pain in his arm that the fall had caused was nearly unbearable, especially with Mike's weight on him.

| Mike slowly stood up, keeping his stare low, somewhat ashamed he had acted in such a childish way. On the other end, he didn't regretthe fact he had stop Brian from getting away.
He hid himself from view, pressing his back against one of the side of the small room so that no one passing by would see him when the doors would open.
When they did, Mike looked at Brian. "Are you really leaving?" he asked pleading, having an incredible urge to press the "close doors" button right away.

| Brian stood up as well, rubbing his arm.
"You said it didn't matter whether I left now of in two days...and I'll obviously have to leave by then. What difference does it make?" He frowned. "Not to mention you fuckin' tackled me, you bastard."
He just wanted to rush back into Mike's arms and apologize. But he knew very well that soon enough he wouldn't be able to run back to him whenever he wanted. He had to stay strong.

| "Wh... what difference? Well you won't have to run away and hide from me for the next two days, 'cause I'm not giving up," he explained on a deffense tone.
He looked at Brian's arm and was suddenly scared he had broken it.
"And who's gonna fix your arm if I'm gone, huh?" he added.

| Brian hated to feel weak and controlled. He couldn't just crawl back to his lover, now...could he?
"My...my arm is fine."
Indeed, it was. It hurt a bit, but it surely wasn't broken. If it had been broken, he wouldn't have been able to lift it. Which would have meant that he wouldn't have been able to play guitar for a while. And without a guitarist, the tour would have been cancelled...
He chased the thoughts away from his mind. Had he just wished his arm was broken? That was twisted, sick, fucked. Another sign that he had gone too far. His band was his life. But what was Mike, exactly? He still hadn't figured that out, and three days didn't seem enough to do it.
"If...if I come back to you now, will you let me go in two days?" Brian asked, his voice shaking. "You have to promise me you'll let me leave in two days."
He was afraid to be given the opportunity to choose between his band, his family, his life...and Mike. The choice wasn't clear in his mind. He was tempted to throw it all away just to be with his lover, but the little rationality and common sense he had left prevented him to do it. If it didn't work out with Mike, he would be left with nothing. He wasn't ready to risk this much.

| Mike shot his hand forward pressing the "close doors" button with a bit too much of anxiety. The metallic walls slid back shut, and they started to move back up.
"I don't really have a choice, do I?" he said bitterly.
Silence settled for a few moment.
"I... It'll take some time to adjust, but I'll let go."
Truth to be told, he knew this wasn't half real. But if it was the only way to get Brian back for two days, he was willing to make this lie.

| ((My day is gonna be like, forum-homework-forum-homework. Yay.))
Brian managed a smile and pressed the button for the fourth floor.
"Thank you."
Standing on the tip of his toes, he kissed Mike's lips.
He wasn't sure whether this was the right decision or not, and he felt like a fool for blindly trusting Mike. But if he left so sudenly he would be craving the man's presence soon enough. He had to wait.

| The elevator soon slow down, indicating their close arrival. Mike, not saying a word, got out and followed Brian back to their room.
"...is it that fucked up for me to love you that much?" he asked abashed after a while.

| He stood in front of the door. "Give me the key?" he asked a bit harshly, like an uncertain order formulated out of nervosity, just to evade the question.
Knowing that Mike wouldn't give it to him if he didn't provide an answer, he spoke again:
"How much do you love me, Mike? Do you love me more than your family, more than your friends, more than your band? Tell me. I want to know what I mean to you."

| Mike, for the first time, doubted his answer. He hadn't think of that; he hadn't compared his love for Brian to the one he had for his band, his family...
Above all the things he could think of, he knew he loved Brian way more than he should, only he couldn't tell at what lengh.
Honesty was probably his best shot, Brian would know if he lied anyway.
"I... I don't know," he said quietly. "If I knew I wouldn't be doubting everything right now. I'm just positively sure I want to stay with you for the two days coming."
He handed him the card he had luckily left in his pants' pocket the night before.

| "Good answer," Brian replied, snatching the card from the man's fingers. "I want to stay with you."
He opened the door and turned on the lights.
"So...are you eating this breakfast or not?" he asked, glancing at the bedside table. "I bet the coffee is cold as fuck, though."
He was surprised at how he had managed to speak in such a casual tone after what had happened, but he was relieved. He and Mike were in this together. They lived and felt the same things. The shared the same questions, the same shame, the same doubts. And even if their feelings for each other were different, which Brian feared, they were still together for three days, and nothing would change that.

| "I... huh... yeah, why not."
Mike walked to the small bedside table and noticed for the first time the flower that had been carefully paced beside the cinnamon bun. He stroked it lightly, dazed, thinking just how much this simple thought from Brian meant to him.
Quickly after, he took his meal and sat on the bed, taking a bite out of it.

| Brian sat next to him, holding his own cinnamon bun that he had left earlier on the desk by the door. He took a bite out of it.
"You're not mad at me...are you? I kinda ruined your breakfast."

| "Oh yeah," Mike answered, looking ahead. "You're so evil you have sugar on your nose."
His statement was totally false, but it gave him a reason to lean on him and practically take Brian's nose in his mouth, kissing it in some weird way.

| "Hey!" Brian exclaimed, giggling. "I'm not supposed to be the breakfast!"
He caught Mike's mouth in a proper kiss, sliding his tongue over the man's lips and delighted to taste the sweetness of the pastry he had just eaten.

| "Yes you are," Mike replied, kissing him again playfully. "You're my cinnamon bun."
Mike doubled think his reply afterwards, and hoped Brian wouldn't take that as too nasty.

| "Wow..." Brian pondered for a moment. "That line could be straight out of a children's tv show, or straight out of a really bad porno. Haha."
He kissed the nape of Mike's neck. "You sure know how to talk to men..."

| Mike ignored him and deapened the kiss. He ran his hand under the back of Brian's shirt, slowly dragging him down on the bed and leaving his breakfast beside him. He had found better.
He nip on Brian's lower lip, until a thought escaped him, and practically blurted out of his mouth. "I need a shower."

| "Is that a fact or an invitation?" Brian asked with a smirk.
"I need a shower as well, and unfortunately there's only one in this room." He dragged his finger on Mike's lips and down his chin. "Such a shame."
