Another Morning With You

"Hum... right, sure," Mike declared, not knowing at all where the restaurants were around here. "Let's check the ones down this street," he suggested as he pointed a rather busy intersection.

They walked down the road, having somehow an overview of what was offered. Far down, a few blocks away, standed the "Dine & Dash" where the whole scene with Patrick had happened. He hoped Brian wouldn't see it.

He suggested a small restaurant where you could read "Morning Delights". It seemed cozy and familliar, but he wanted Brian's approvement.

Mike smirked, and he followed Brian into the small place. Only a few tables were displayed, and people were already moving out. Breakfast was over for most people on this week day.

They sat at a double place table and Mike began to look at the menu.

"I'm guessing you want the blueberry muffin?" he asked, more like an affirmation than a question. "I'm having the raisin bread. And coffee."

Mike mentally pouted and refused to admit his jealousy.

The waitress came over and flipped a note pad out, wearing a bright smile. "May I take your order?"

Mike asked for what he wanted without even looking at her, and let Brian do the same.

Mike flushed red and narrowed his eyes. "Oh, nothing, really," he said as if he was hiding something.

He looked around, everywhere except at Brian, and mumbled terms that sounded like "stop watching at her like that."

When the girl came back with the plates and settled them in front of each other, Mike stared down at his meal mumbling "thank you", while Brian smiled warmly. Since when did Mike get that treatment?

She smiled back, perhaps out of professional habit. Mike discretely kick Brian's leg under the table.

Mike smirked, proud of himself, yet finding the situation quite childish. Too bad, he was jealous like that.

"Oh, nothing," he replied innocently. "Did I hit you? I thought it was the table's leg."

He started examining his raisin bread with pure interest.

Mike pouted and looked away. "I'm not jealous... I just don't like it when you flirt like that. And who are you to tell me I'm immature?" he asked, smiling at him.

He took a sip of his coffee and then put it back on the table, deciding to pour more sugar in it.

"Keeping up an argument is just as immature," he replied, raising his shoulder. He stopped talking and took a bite out of his bread, then sipped his coffee.

He fell silent after that.

"What? Who?" Mike asked, absolutely clueless. His mind then snapped and he felt stupid for not realizing it before. "Oh. Yeah, that little guy." He thought for a second. "You know, it was mostly a coincidence if we met. I mean, I was drunk off my ass. And that was your fault," he smirked. "Then I suppose I ended up in his room one way or another, and he simply asked me out for breakfast the next morning. Don't worry, we didn't do anything... huh..." he moved his hands around, knowing Brian would understand.

He sighed, still deep in thoughts and kind of forgetting Brian's presence. "I still feel bad for the little guy. I must've scared the shit out of him." He looked down.

Mike pinched his lip. "Well I kinda jumped on him. Litterally." He paused. "I won't hide you anything, we did kiss," he laughed bitterly. "But he never wanted to. I don't know. Maybe I just wanted someone to know how it felt like to wake up alone after you thought you had something going on with someone else."

Mike looked down, really ashamed this time and willing to understand if Brian had some sort of grudge against him for that after.

"If you do that, I'll kiss you in front of her," Mike threatened, laughing a bit.

He finished his bread and gulped down the rest of the coffee, delighed to find the usual sugarry taste at the bottom of the cup.

Mike turned red for the very third time this morning, but clearly not believing that Brian was willing to go through with that. No, he wasn't going to kiss her. He just couldn't... could he? Yes he could. But Mike had really meant it as a joke, and only wanted to show that he didn't like it when Brian openly flirted with everyone when he was there.

But now he wasn't scared Brian would kiss her, he was scared because he'd have to keep his word and kiss him in front of everyone after that.

"Brian!" he hissed. "Don't, just don't!"
